Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Directs Officials to Ensure All Students Access Scholarship Benefits

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has instructed officials to ensure that all students benefit from pre-matric and post-matric scholarship schemes. He emphasised the importance of timely information and support to prevent financial constraints from hindering education.

He instructed officers to guarantee that no student is left out. The resident commissioner at Haryana Bhawan has been tasked with coordinating with Central ministries to gather information on these schemes and keep state departments updated, according to an official statement.

Presiding over a review meeting about scholarship schemes for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Backwards Classes (BC) students, Saini highlighted the government's duty to prevent financial constraints from hindering meritorious or needy students' education. He urged officers to ensure students receive timely information about scholarships, stressing the need for vigilance in this matter.

Scholarship Information Dissemination

The chief minister directed that information boards be installed in every school and college. These boards should clearly display details of all scholarship schemes, making it easier for students to complete their applications. School and college principals are also expected to inform students about these schemes and assist them in filling out online forms.

Saini instructed officers to conduct ground monitoring of the schemes and prepare periodic review reports. This process will ensure that the state government's 40% share in the scholarship schemes is transferred to students' bank accounts, while the remaining 60% from the Central government is credited through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

Focus on Skill Development

The chief minister noted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's emphasis on youth skill development for self-reliance. The Haryana government aims to enhance skills among students, particularly those from economically weaker sections within SC and BC communities. This initiative seeks not only to provide quality education but also to make these students employable and influential in society.

Saini reiterated that the government's objective is not just educational access but also ensuring students become employable. By focusing on skill enhancement, the government hopes these students will play a significant role in society. The commitment extends beyond education, aiming for a comprehensive development approach.
