Enforcement Directorate Summones Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal In Liquor Policy Case
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday summoned Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal in relation with the liquor policy case. The investigating agency has called Kejriwal on Thursday, December 21 to answer questions related to money laundering in the Liquor Policy Case.
Before Kejriwal, other AAP prominent leaders including Manish Sisodia, Satyendra Jain, and Sanjay Singh, were called by the investigating agency, who are in jail now.

Reacting to the arrests of his party leaders, Arvind Kejriwal had said, "Standing in Delhi, they are threatening every day that they will arrest Kejriwal... It doesn't matter if he arrests us, Kejriwal is not afraid of going to jail. You will arrest Kejriwal's body... how will you arrest Kejriwal's thoughts? You will arrest this one Kejriwal... how will you arrest thousands, lakhs, and crores of Kejriwals?" he said.
The ED had summoned the Delhi CM in November for questioning, but he chose to skip to do party political promotion in Rajasthan for the recently concluded assembly elections. Kejriwal had called ED's summoning a conspiracy made by the BJP to stop Opposition.
"Simultaneous to the summons, in the afternoon of 30.10.2023, BJP leaders started making statements that soon I would be summoned and arrested. By the evening of that day, I received your summons," Kejriwal said in November after receiving the summons.
A day ago, Union Minister Smriti Irani slammed the AAP-led Delhi government, stating it's most of the ministers are currently behind bars. Her remarks came during a conversation with former Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari. ANI quoted Smriti Irani saying "I know you (BJP leader Manoj Tiwari) and the district president have no expectations from the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government. The person who has already sent half of his cabinet to jail, there is no guarantee on how long he (Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal) will stay out."
