Eight-member gang of vehicle lifters held in Punjab
The Punjab police on Friday busted eight-member gang of vehicle lifters.
Kapurthala, Mar 24: With the arrest of eight people, the police here on Friday claimed to have busted an inter-district gang of vehicle lifters.
12 motorbikes, a pistol, three gold chains, two gold earrings and cash Rs one lakh were also recovered from their possession, senior police officials said.
Addressing a press conference in Kapurthala , Senior Superintendent of Police Sandeep Kumar Sharma said the arrested gang members were involved in 37 cases of loot in Kapurthala and Jalandhar districts. They are mostly drug addicts and drug paddlers, the SSP said.
The arrested gang members have been identified as Gaurav Rai, Gurdev Singh ,Rajesh Kumar, Sunny, Anil Kumar, Bhupinder (all residents of Kapurthala) and Taranjit Singh and Balwinder Singh of Bholath falling in Kapurthala.
