Eight Individuals Arrested for Stone-Pelting During Protests in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh
In Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, police heightened security and detained eight individuals accused of throwing stones at officers in Gaddiwada. This incident occurred during a protest against the earlier detention of some men. The protests were sparked by a controversial remark from a self-proclaimed godman, according to officials.

Senior Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar addressed rumours about injuries to a station in-charge during the stone-pelting. He confirmed these reports were false. Earlier, a crowd had gathered at Sikandrabad police station, chanting slogans. Police intervened, dispersing the crowd and detaining several people, as stated by the SSP.
Police Response and Community Engagement
Following the evening's stone-pelting incident, eight arrests were made. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to identify others involved. The SSP emphasised that strict measures will be taken against anyone disturbing public peace. To maintain order, an adequate police presence has been established in the area.
The SSP and district magistrate engaged with community elders and local leaders to ensure calm. They reassured that law enforcement is committed to maintaining peace. Additionally, Kumar mentioned that social media platforms are under surveillance to prevent misinformation from spreading.
Efforts are being made to monitor online activities closely. Legal actions will be pursued against those disseminating false information. This proactive approach aims to prevent further unrest and maintain stability in the region.
