ED Prepares Reports on Attack During Raid in West Bengal
ED officers are preparing reports on the attack faced during a raid in West Bengal. The reports will include details of the incident and will be sent to their New Delhi office for further action.
In response to the violent attack on Enforcement Directorate (ED) officers during a raid at the residence of a Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader in West Bengal, ED officials are diligently preparing two sets of reports detailing the incident. These reports will be dispatched to the New Delhi office by Saturday, where senior officials will determine the subsequent course of action.

Comprehensive Documentation of the Attack
The reports will meticulously document every aspect of the attack, including the sequence of events, the circumstances that compelled the officers to abandon the assignment and retreat from the scene, and the extent of damage inflicted upon their vehicles. Additionally, photographs and video footage captured during the attack will be incorporated into the reports to provide visual evidence of the incident.
Continued Raids Amidst Obstruction
Despite the unfortunate attack, other ED teams remained steadfast in their pursuit of the ongoing investigation into the multi-crore ration distribution scam in West Bengal. Raids were conducted at the residence of the in-laws of the TMC leader and former chairman of Bongaon municipality, as well as two of his associates. These operations spanned over 12 hours, during which ED officers diligently collected documents, bank details, and engaged in conversations with local residents to gather crucial information.
Challenges Faced During Search Operations
The ED teams encountered significant non-cooperation from local residents, which hindered the progress of their search operations. This resistance contributed to the extended duration required to complete the searches.
Ongoing Raids in Connection with Ration Scam
In addition to the aforementioned raids, ED officers simultaneously conducted search operations at an apartment in the southern part of the city's Bijoygarh area in connection with the same ration scam. These efforts were part of a broader investigation involving at least 15 locations across West Bengal.
Political Fallout and Condemnation
The attack on ED officers sparked a political firestorm, with Governor C.V. Ananda Bose expressing strong condemnation and emphasizing that the state is not a "banana republic." The incident has drawn widespread attention and raised concerns about the safety and security of law enforcement personnel carrying out their duties.
As the ED continues its investigation into the ration scam in West Bengal, the reports detailing the attack on its officers will play a crucial role in informing the agency's next steps and ensuring accountability for the perpetrators of this violent act.
