Earlier, the ED had interrogated members of his staff and people connected to the 51-year-old member of the Rajya Sabha.

The ED referred to Singh in its indictment. The document indicated that Dinesh Arora, an intermediary, confirmed he encountered Singh at a gathering at his restaurant, the Unplugged Courtyard.

In 2020, Singh asked Arora to seek funds for the Aam Aadmi Party for the Delhi assembly elections from restaurant owners. He said he gave a cheque of Rs 82 lakh for the funds.

According to the statement, Arora claimed that the other accused, Amit Arora, needed assistance moving his alcohol store from Okhla to Pitampura. This was facilitated by Singh who informed Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, and the issue was settled by the Excise Department.

The charge sheet also stated that Arora claimed he had visited Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence once with Singh and had communicated with Sisodia about five to six times.

Earlier today, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, "They have been probing the alleged liquor scam for the last year but nothing has been found yet. Nothing will be found at Sanjay Singh's residence. When someone is staring at defeat, they resort to desperate measures. That is what is happening right now".
