EC Announces Assembly Election Dates For Five States, Rolls Out New Measures
The Election Commission of India on Monday annonced the much-anticipated schedule for conducting assembly polls in five states - Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram.
According to the officials, the electoral process is set to kick off on November 7 and conclude on November 30, with the results to be declared on December 3.

The voting process will unfold in a single phase in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram, while Chhattisgarh will see a two-phase election.
Diverse Voter Demographics
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar said that a total of 8.2 crore male voters and 7.8 crore female voters will exercise their democratic rights in these five states. Notably, there are approximately 60 lakh first-time voters among the electorate, underscoring the importance of their participation in shaping the future of their respective states.

Inclusivity and Accurate Electoral Rolls
CEC Rajiv Kumar stressed the significance of maintaining healthy and accurate electoral rolls during the upcoming elections. The Election Commission, under his guidance, will prioritise the inclusivity of electoral rolls and focus on ensuring a seamless transition from voter registration to the actual polling process.
Impressive Polling Infrastructure
For these elections, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announced a total of 1.77 lakh polling stations, with 17,734 of them designated as Model Polling Stations. Furthermore, 621 Polling Stations will be managed by staff with disabilities (PwD), and 8,192 Polling Stations will be under the command of women, highlighting the commitment to inclusivity and equal participation.

State-Wise Voter Statistics
The Chief Election Commissioner provided a breakdown of the voter statistics for each of the five states. Mizoram boasts 8.52 lakh voters, Chhattisgarh has 2.03 crore, Madhya Pradesh counts 5.6 crore, Rajasthan accounts for 5.25 crore, and Telangana has 3.17 crore eligible voters. These figures underscore the substantial voter base that will play a crucial role in shaping the electoral outcomes.

CEC Rajiv Kumar emphasized the unique significance of the forthcoming state elections, stating that these polls hold importance not only for the respective states but also for the nation as a whole. As the electoral process unfolds, it is expected to draw substantial participation from voters across various demographics.
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar made an earnest appeal to voters, particularly women, youth, and urban residents, to actively participate in the upcoming elections and exercise their right to vote.
Election Preparedness
In readiness for the upcoming elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Mizoram, and Chhattisgarh, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announced the establishment of over 940 checkposts to ensure the smooth conduct of the electoral process.
Distribution of Voter Information Slips
CEC Rajiv Kumar emphasized that voter information slips should be distributed at least a week before the election date, facilitating informed participation and contributing to a successful democratic exercise in the five states.
