Earthquake Of Magnitude 3.1 Hits Haryana's Faridabad; Tremors Felt Across Delhi-NCR
Delhi, the ground beneath its millions of inhabitants' feet suddenly trembled, sending shockwaves of alarm and uncertainty through the city on Sunday. According to reports, an estimated magnitude 3.1 earthquake had originated approximately 9 kilometers from Faridabad, Haryana, at precisely 4:08 pm.
An earthquake of magnitude 3.1 on the Richter Scale jolted Haryana's Faridabad, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) informed. Earthquake tremors were also felt in Delhi-NCR region. However, there have been no reports of any damage or injuries so far.

Delhi is located about 40 km from Faridabad. Earthquakes can be felt at long distances, especially if they are shallow. The magnitude of the earthquake also plays a role in how far it can be felt. A magnitude 3.1 earthquake is relatively small, but it can still be felt at a distance of 40 km, especially if it is shallow.
Earlier on October 3, the entire Delhi-NCR region, along with various parts of northern India, experienced powerful tremors stemming from a 6.2 magnitude earthquake that had struck Nepal. This seismic event had its epicenter registered in the Talkot region of Bajhang district, situated 700 kilometers west of Kathmandu. The earthquake occurred at precisely 2:40 p.m., as reported by the National Seismological Centre.
