Dussehra Holidays 2024: Banks Closed For 4 Days In These States | Check Dates
October in India is filled with festivals, including Dussehra, Durga Puja, and Diwali. With Dussehra and Durga Puja just around the corner, public and private institutions will largely remain closed. Banks, too, will observe multiple holidays, although the exact days off will depend on local customs and festivities.
In some states, banks will be closed for four consecutive days. In others, holidays may fall on weekends, reducing the number of closed days.

States Where Banks Will Close for 4 Days
Banks in Tripura, Assam, and West Bengal will be closed from October 10 to 13. In Sikkim, banks will remain shut from October 11 to 14.
State-Wise Bank Holiday Breakdown:
- October 10: Banks in Tripura, Assam, Nagaland, and West Bengal will be closed for Maha Saptami.
- October 11: Banks in these states, along with Karnataka, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Meghalaya, will close for Dussehra.
- October 12: All banks nationwide will be closed as it is the second Saturday of the month.
- October 13: Banks will remain closed as it's a Sunday.
- October 14: Banks will reopen across the country, except in Sikkim, where Durga Puja (Dasain) will continue.
Overall, there are 15 bank holidays in October across various states, including Sundays and second and fourth Saturdays, due to regional festivals.
