Due date for filing GSTR-3B extended till Aug 24, for Kerala its Oct 5

New Delhi, Aug 21: Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday said that the last date of filing Goods and Services Tax Returns (GSTR) 3B for the month of July has been extended to 24 August. For Kerala, which has been hit by heavy rains and floods, the date for filing GSTR 3B is October 5.

"Last date of filing GSTR 3B has been extended to 24th August (for all states). Due to flood situation in Kerala, the last date of filling GSTR 3B has been extended to 5th November in the state," news agency ANI quoted Goyal as saying.

GSTR-3B is a monthly return. Taxpayers can file their return on GST Portal. Taxpayers have to file this return of a particular month by 20th of the subsequent month.

Goyal had even earlier said that there would be considerations for Kerala as the state has suffered due to excessive rains. The heavy rains which wreaked havoc in Kerala in the past few weeks seems to have eased a bit but the situation continues to remain grim. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday said that though the Centre has been forthcoming with help in terms of relief and rescue efforts, more is needed to make for the total damage.
