DU row: Petition seeks action against policemen
A day after the Delhi police agreed to look into the threats made to Delhi University student Gurmehar Kaur a petition has been filed in the High Court seeking action against police men.
Two students of the Delhi University have filed a petition in the Delhi High Court seeking action against the policemen who allegedly assaulted students and journalists during the protests. Last week major protests broke out at the Delhi University over an invite to Umer Khalid to speak at the Ramjas college.

Students of different unions clashed on campus and this had led to national outrage. Moreover a Facebook post by Gurmehar in which she said that she is not afraid of the ABVP too went viral on the social media.
Gurmehar however withdrew her protest on Tuesdy and said that she had shown enough courage. She however called on the students to protest and protect democracy.
