Diwali Bank Holiday 2024: Where Will Banks Remain Closed In Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Delhi & Other States?
The Diwali holiday season is kicking off with Dhanteras on October 29. It is a festival of lights that symbolises the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.
It also means there will be bank holidays. So, people has to plan their works, accordingly.

Bank holidays differ by state, so it's best to check with your local branch or bank's mobile app to confirm the holiday schedule in your area. Here's a breakdown:
October 31: Banks in Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal, among other states, will be closed in observance of Diwali, Deepawali, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birthday, Naraka Chaturdashi, or Kali Puja.
November 1: Banks in Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Sikkim, Tripura, and Uttarakhand, among others, will be closed for Diwali, the Kut Festival, or Kannada Rajyotsava.
November 2: Banks in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh will close for Diwali, Laxmi Puja, or Govardhan Puja. It's also the first Saturday of the month, which usually isn't a holiday.
November 3: Banks across all Indian states and union territories will be closed on Sunday.
Although physical branches may close on these holidays, customers can still use digital banking services 24/7. For cash needs, ATMs remain accessible, and online banking services are operational unless otherwise notified.
