Diwali 2017: Centre announces special gift to defense personnel
There will be no monthly charges on DSPT service (satellite service) used by various army jawans and officers of the country.
Union Minister of Communications on the occasion of Diwali has announced a surprise gift to Indian Army personnel.

In a press meet, Manoj Sinha, Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Communications, announced that there will be no monthly charges on DSPT service (satellite service) used by various army jawans and officers of the country.
He said, "And the telephone call rate that is so far 5 rupees per minute has been reduced to 1 rupee."
"Now with the gift of Deepawali, the army personnel and officers can talk to their home, the headquarters, without worrying about more expenses anywhere," he added.
