Indian tennis star Sania Mirza has reignited speculation about a potential divorce from her husband, Shoaib Malik, by sharing a cryptic message on her Instagram story. The former tennis player and ex-captain of the Pakistan cricket team have supposedly been living apart for over a year.

Trouble in their relationship surfaced in 2022 when Shoaib Malik's photoshoot with Pakistani actress and model Ayesha Omar went viral, causing a stir on social media in both India and Pakistan.

Sania's recent Instagram post has added fuel to the ongoing speculation. In the post, the 37-year-old, currently serving as a tennis expert covering the Australian Open 2024, states, "Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard." The post goes on to discuss the challenges in life, emphasizing the need to make wise choices to overcome them.

Despite being married since 2010, Sania and Malik have kept their marital status private. However, their cryptic social media posts have raised concerns among fans. Last August, Malik changed his Instagram bio from 'Husband to a superwoman Sania Mirza' to just "Father to One True Blessing." Sania, on the other hand, removed all pictures with Malik from her social media accounts and is currently residing in Dubai with their son, Izhaan Malik Mirza. Malik relocated to Pakistan following the alleged separation.

While maintaining silence on the status of their marriage, both Sania and Malik are reportedly co-parenting their five-year-old son, Izhaan Malik Mirza, born in April 2018.
