Similar squally winds are also expected over parts of the Arabian Sea adjoining Kerala, Lakshadweep and the Maldives. The IMD has advised fishermen to avoid the south, central, southwest and southeast Bay of Bengal for the next five days due to rough sea conditions and urged those already in deep-sea areas to return to safer zones immediately.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin held a review meeting with officials from the State Disaster Management Authority on Thursday to assess special initiatives undertaken for disaster preparedness and response as the state braces for the cyclone's impact, according to PTI.
