‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’ director Kundan Shah passes away
He is most known for his comedy classic Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983) and his 1985–1986, TV series Nukkad with Saeed Akhtar Mirza.

Bollywood director Kundan Shah, knwon for 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro', passed away due to heart attack, at his Mumbai residence on Friday night.
He is most known for his comedy classic Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983) and his 1985-1986, TV series Nukkad with Saeed Akhtar Mirza.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the death of the director, saying Shah will be and struggles of common citizens.

He won Filmfare Critics Award for Best Movie - Shah Rukh Kahn starrer 'Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa' in 1993.
Also, he won National Award and Indira Gandhi Award for Best First Film of a Director for 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro'.
Shah returned the award during the student protest in his alma mater FTII in 2015.
He made his directorial debut on television in 1986 with the popular series "Nukkad".
In 1988, he directed the sitcom, "Wagle Ki Duniya", based on cartoonist R K Laxman's character, the common man.
Shah studied direction at the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune and he developed an interest in the comedy genre.
His directorial debut was the comedy film Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro in 1983. He also was the co-writer of the film, with Satish Kaushik. The film introduced Indian cinema to satirical comedy for the first time and was well accepted.
