Digvijaya Singh Questions Absence of Top Corporates in Electoral Bonds Scheme
Congress leader Digvijaya Singh expressed surprise over the absence of top corporates in the electoral bonds scheme and highlighted the presence of shell companies as major donors. He criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modis previous claims about closing shell firms and questioned how these companies with no business or profit are making donations worth thousands of crores. Singh also praised former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren for resisting pressure from misused probe agencies and alleged that votes are being stolen through EVMs in the upcoming polls.
Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh expressed surprise on Saturday that top corporates are missing from the electoral bonds scheme and the main donors were shell companies. Addressing reporters in Indore, Singh highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had previously stated that his government had forced the closure of all shell firms. He questioned how these corporates failed to contribute funds for elections while shell companies, which lack any business or profit, were making donations worth thousands of crores. Singh asserted that this revelation has exposed the Prime Minister.

Praise for Hemant Soren and Allegations of EVM Manipulation
Singh commended former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren for choosing to face imprisonment rather than succumbing to probe agencies allegedly misused by the Centre. Shifting the focus to the upcoming polls, Singh raised concerns about the alleged theft of votes through EVMs and declared his commitment to fighting against this issue.
BJP Rajya Sabha MP Quits Party, More Expected to Follow
Commenting on the recent resignation of BJP Rajya Sabha MP Ajay Pratap Singh due to discontent over ticket distribution for Lok Sabha elections, Singh predicted that more leaders will depart from the ruling dispensation. He referred to those leaving the Congress as "fool chhap Congress."
Questions Surrounding the CAA Notification
Regarding the recent notification issued by the Centre under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Singh questioned the rationale behind the BJP government taking five years to enact rules when laws to grant citizenship to refugees were already in place. He dismissed the BJP's claim that the Congress was facing difficulties in finding candidates for the upcoming polls, asserting that the party has an abundance of aspirants and is encountering challenges in selecting suitable candidates.
