Digital Scam Alert! YouTuber Ankush Bahuguna Shares Distressing Experience
Ankush Bahuguna, a prominent social media influencer, recently shared a distressing experience involving scammers. In an Instagram video, he detailed a 40-hour ordeal where he was deceived into a "digital arrest" after responding to an automated call about a package delivery. This led to isolation, threats, and manipulation, resulting in financial loss and mental distress.
Bahuguna explained that the scammers impersonated law enforcement officials. They accused him of involvement in serious crimes linked to the package and coerced him into video calls under the guise of "self-custody." During this time, he was completely cut off from the outside world.

Scammers' Control Over Actions
The scammers controlled his actions, forcing compliance with their demands. This included sharing sensitive information and conducting suspicious financial transactions. They used psychological manipulation, threatening his career, family, and personal safety if he didn't cooperate or tried to contact anyone.
Bahuguna was even made to perform tasks outside his home. He visited a bank for dubious transactions and checked into a hotel under the scammers' watchful eye. His friends noticed his unusual behavior but were reassured by him that he was just busy.
Escape and Realization
The ordeal ended when Bahuguna saw a message from his sister revealing he was scammed. This realization allowed him to reconnect with family and friends. He credited his escape to their persistent efforts, as they noticed changes in his behavior despite his reassurances.
Bahuguna shared this experience to warn others about such scams' dangers. He emphasized the importance of vigilance and reporting suspicious calls immediately. He expressed losing money, mental peace, and trust but hoped to prevent others from facing similar experiences.
