Did Konda Surekha Issue Apology For Samantha Divorce To KTR? Here’s What Happened

Telangana Minister Konda Surekha has come under fire for her recent comments, which many critics deemed inappropriate for discussing personal matters. Following the backlash, a viral post claimed that Surekha had apologised and retracted her statements regarding actress Samantha Prabhu.

According to the viral tweet, Surekha clarified that her remarks were not intended to hurt Samantha but to highlight the attitudes of certain leaders toward women. She praised Samantha's journey toward self-reliance and emphasized that her intent was never to offend. In her message on X (formerly known as Twitter), she allegedly wrote, "My comments were meant to challenge a leader's belittling attitude toward women, not to hurt your sentiments, @Samanthaprabhu2. If my words caused any hurt to you or your fans, I unconditionally retract my comments."

However, it is essential to note that the tweet did not originate from Konda Surekha's official account. The confusion arose when another account posted the viral tweet, misleading many into believing it was from her official profile.

Meanwhile, Konda Surekha addressed the media to clarify the situation. She explained that her comments stemmed from a political critique of KTR (K. Taraka Rama Rao) and that she had inadvertently involved a family in her critique. Surekha expressed regret for any distress her comments may have caused and stated that she holds no personal animosity toward anyone. "I made those comments realising I hurt others, and I am unconditionally withdrawing them. I don't want anyone to experience the pain I've felt," she remarked.

While Surekha acknowledged her apology on social media, she maintained that KTR should also issue an apology for his actions. "It's as if he's trying to justify his wrongdoings by accusing me. We will respond legally to the notice from KTR," she added.

What Did Konda Surekha Claim?

According to news agency ANI, Konda Surekha accused KT Rama Rao of tapping the phones of actresses and blackmailing them.

Surekha stated, "It is KT Rama Rao who is responsible for [actress] Samantha's divorce. He was a minister at that time and used to tap the phones of actresses to uncover their weaknesses for blackmail."

She further alleged, "He would make them drug addicts and then exploit that... Everyone knows this, including Samantha, Naga Chaitanya, and their families-everyone is aware that such incidents occurred."

In response to Surekha's claims, Samantha Ruth Prabhu addressed the comments made by the Telangana minister, stating that her divorce was a "personal matter."

Samantha took to Instagram on Wednesday evening to clarify that her divorce was settled by "mutual consent and amicably." She emphasized that there was no political conspiracy involved and urged people to stop speculating about her divorce.
