Wrestling Federation of India chief and BJP MP, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh who is facing allegations of sexual harassment by female wrestlers had made a controversial remark during a television interview.

In an interview with ABP News, he said, " earlier they were saying that I sexually abused 100 children. Then they said it happened to be 1,000 children. Did I eat rotis made of Shilajit," he said.

"If these people go to Jantar Jantar, I will resign," Singh said while adding that the protest was motivated politically.

The Delhi Police has filed two FIRs against Singh on Friday on allegations of sexual harassment levelled against him by seven women wrestlers.

The FIRs was filed just hours after Solicitor General, Tushar Mehta told a Supreme Court Bench of Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud and Justice P S Narasimha that a case would be filed on Friday.

Several wrestlers have been protesting at Jantar Jantar, demanding that the government make public the findings of an oversight panel that investigated the sexual harassment charges against Singh. They have made it clear that they would not leave the protest site, until Singh is arrested. They had resumed their sit-in last week and demanded that the findings of the panel that probed the allegations be made public.
