Despite the Himalayas, China a threat says Vice Chief of Army
The comments by the Vice Chief comes in the wake of the Doklam standoff between India and China.
China continues to be a threat despite there being the Himalayas in between Vice Chief of the Army Staff, Lt. General Sharath Chand said. He said that a large part of China's defence expenditure is not declared and the nation continues to pose a threat to us, he also said.

He said that on the West there is Pakistan with a smaller economy and smaller army. They took the route of low intensity conflict with India. This suits China, the Vice Chief also said.

The comments by the Vice Chief comes in the wake of the Doklam standoff between India and China which has now entered into the fifth week. National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval is scheduled to visit China this week to take part in the BRICS summit. China had said that there is a possibility of a bilateral during this visit. Doval is expected to take up the Doklam issue with his Chinese counterpart during his two day visit.
