Patna: Denied ambulance by AIIMS, father carries daughter's body for 4 km
Rambalak and his wife had travelled about 140 km from Kajra village to reach the hospital.
In yet another horrific incident, a father was forced to carry her 9-year-old daughter's body on his shoulder after he was denied medical services at the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) hospital in Patna.
On Tuesday, Rambalak, a daily wager brought her daughter who had been suffering from high fever, to the hospital. Instead of treating her, he was allegedly made to wait in a queue. The girl's condition deteriorated and died near the Outdoor Patient Department (OPD) counter.
He was then allegedly denied ambulance by the AIIMs officials to carry her body home. With the little money he had, he carried her body on his shoulder near four km to an auto-rickshaw stand at Phulwari Sharif in Patna.
The man also alleged that he lost his child as the hospital staff refused to attend the ailing girl.
