Delhi Transport Minister Takes Metro to Promote Public Transport

Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot took a metro ride to promote public transport and understand commuters experiences. He traveled from Dhansa Bus Metro Station to Indraprastha Metro Station, praising the DMRCs excellent service.

In a bid to promote public transportation and gain firsthand insights into commuters' experiences, Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot opted to travel by Delhi Metro to reach his office on Friday. The minister's journey began at the Dhansa Bus Metro Station in Najafgarh on the Grey Line and concluded at the Indraprastha metro station, conveniently located near the Delhi Secretariat.

Encouraging Sustainable Commute

Sharing his thoughts on the metro ride, Minister Gahlot expressed his enjoyment and emphasized the importance of choosing public transport for a sustainable and congestion-free city. He commended the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for providing excellent service and ensuring a commendable travel experience.

About the Dhansa Bus Metro Station

The Dhansa Bus Stand metro station holds significance as a key stop on the Grey Line of the Delhi Metro. It was inaugurated on September 18, 2021, marking an extension of the metro service beyond the previously operational Najafgarh Station, which commenced operations on October 4, 2019.

Ridership and Network Expansion

Spanning a total length of 4.9 km, the Grey Line records an average daily ridership of approximately 18,859 passengers. Meanwhile, the entire Delhi Metro network has grown to an impressive 392.44 km, encompassing 288 stations. With an average daily ridership of 30 lakh, the DMRC plays a vital role in the public transportation system of the national capital.
