Delhi Student Murder: Cousin Had Planned Her Death, Stalked Her Every Day

A tragic incident unfolded in a Delhi park where a 25-year-old woman named Nargis was brutally murdered by her cousin, Irfan, after she rejected his marriage proposal. According to the police, Irfan had planned the murder three days prior and was well aware of Nargis's daily routine. Knowing that she passed through the park on her way to stenography classes every day, he chose this location to carry out the heinous act.

In his confession, Irfan claimed that he had taken the iron rod used in the crime from his own house. He also stated that he had attempted to approach Nargis on the previous Monday but couldn't meet her due to unspecified reasons. The police are currently investigating the veracity of his claims.

Nargis, a recent graduate of Kamala Nehru College, had refused Irfan's marriage proposal as he did not have a stable job and worked as a food delivery agent. This rejection left him heartbroken and struggling to find another prospective partner. His attempts to communicate with Nargis were futile, as she stopped taking his calls.

On a fateful Friday morning, Irfan carried out his dreadful plan, mercilessly beating Nargis to death with the iron rod in a park near Delhi University's Sri Aurobindo College.

The police received information about the incident, and an iron rod was found near Nargis's lifeless body in the park. Hours after committing the crime, Irfan surrendered to the authorities.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed his anguish over the deteriorating law and order situation in the city following this brutal incident. He urged the Union Home Minister and the Lieutenant Governor to take strict measures to address the safety concerns of the people, particularly the women of Delhi. The tragic loss of yet another daughter in the city highlights the urgency to prioritize and strengthen law enforcement.
