Delhi SCERT forms 10-member committee to vet academic podcasts and e-content for YouTube

Delhi’s State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has formed a 10-member committee to review academic podcasts and e-content before release on the SCERT Studio YouTube channel. The panel will assess NEP 2020 alignment, academic accuracy, and audio-visual quality, and recommend approval, revision, or rejection under Directorate of Education guidelines.

An official order said the step is meant to improve quality and relevance. It also aims to keep content aligned with the National Education Policy 2020 and official guidelines.

The order, issued on April 17, said the committee will assess material created by SCERT and District Institute of Education and Training faculty. The review will happen before any upload or public sharing. The order linked the checks to SCERT, National Education Policy 2020, and Directorate of Education guidelines.

NEP 2020 guidelines in SCERT content checks

The terms of reference said the panel will judge whether each podcast or module matches NEP 2020 and departmental directions. It will also look at academic usefulness and factual correctness. Audio-visual clarity and overall presentation will be examined as a separate area during the same review process.

Each of the three review areas will carry 10 marks, the order stated. This scoring is meant to standardise how content is evaluated before publication. The committee will consider alignment with policy, academic accuracy, and production quality. The results will guide what can be shared on the SCERT Studio YouTube channel.

NEP 2020 focus and SCERT committee members

The committee will be chaired by the SCERT secretary and joint director. Other members include officials from the Directorate of Education, DIET principals, and faculty from SCERT headquarters. Faculty from the Central Institute of Educational Technology, NCERT, will also be part of the panel, the order said.

After reviewing each item, the committee will recommend approval, revision, or rejection of the e-content. The order added that the panel will suggest changes wherever needed. The aim is to ensure the final output is suitable for students and teachers. It is also meant to meet stated policy and department standards.
