Delhi Police Ramp Up Security For Dussehra 2023, Ban Bags Inside Ramlila Celebrations
The festival of Dussehra (Dussehra 2023) is being celebrated in India. This day is also known as Vijaya Dashami. The day of Dussehra is considered a symbol of the victory of good over evil. It marks the historic moment when Lord Ramkilled the demon king, Ravana, making it an occasion celebrated as Dussehra.
Throughout the country, the day of Dussehra is marked with the grand staging of Ramlila. This vibrant and cultural spectacle takes place at numerous locations, captivating the spirit and essence of this meaningful day.

This year, the 11th grand Ramlila organized by the Shri Ramlila Society in Dwarka, Sector 10, New Delhi, is set to host Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the esteemed chief guest. As part of the festivities, PM Modi will also participate in the ritual of Ravana Dahan, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. Anticipated to join the event at approximately 5 pm, Prime Minister Modi's presence is expected to add a significant touch to the Ramlila celebrations in Dwarka, Sector 10.
Giving a brief on the security arrangements made at Red Fort grounds for Ramlila shows, the Delhi Police have taken extensive security measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all attendees. DCP North, Manoj Kumar Meena, provided an overview of the security arrangements, emphasizing the deployment of 1500 police personnel in the vicinity.
"Security, law & order and traffic arrangements made at all three Ram Leela shows with the presence of 1500 police personnel in the area. Anti-terrorist measures have also been taken. For the visit of VVIPs, security measures taken. Crowd control measures taken keeping in mind Ravan dahan today. Entry of people will be stopped as it reaches maximum capacity. Carrying of bags inside the Ram Leela shows is not allowed,"DCP North Manoj Kumar Meena said.
In anticipation of the Ravan Dahan festivities in the national capital on Tuesday, Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory for daily commuters. The advisory is essential due to the anticipated influx of devotees attending the Ramlila events at major venues on Tuesday.
