Top Delhi Police Official Checks Border Security Ahead of G20 Summit

In anticipation of the upcoming G20 Leaders Summit, Delhi Police are taking proactive measures to ensure robust security in the national capital's bordering areas. The summit, scheduled for September 9-10, is expected to attract more than 30 heads of state and top officials from both the European Union and invited guest countries. Additionally, 14 heads of international organisations will be present at this high-profile event.
Security Preparedness Inspection

A top official from the Delhi Police force conducted a thorough inspection on Thursday to evaluate security preparedness ahead of the summit. Special Commissioner of Police Law and Order Dependra Pathak visited Singhu border where he issued directives to personnel regarding their roles during this critical period. He instructed officers to report any mishaps or incidents promptly to senior officials.

A video posted on Delhi Police’s official handle showed Pathak addressing officers stationed at Singhu border. Emphasising on the gravity of their duty, he warned that any incident occurring at this location could potentially escalate into an international issue given the global significance attached with G20 Summit.
Pathak later told reporters that efforts are underway by police forces across Delhi to ensure seamless law and order during the summit. A dedicated segment within Delhi Police has been assigned specifically for overseeing preparations around G20 Summit area.

The Special Commissioner further highlighted that there is a strong, adequate, and strategic deployment of forces throughout Delhi with an aim to maintain peace and harmony amid these crucial days leading up to and during the summit. He reiterated his commitment towards ensuring a seamless law-and-order situation while expressing confidence in his team's readiness for handling potential challenges.
