Delhi Police Concludes Two-Week Public Outreach Initiative at IITF 2025 to Enhance Community Engagement

The Delhi Police concluded its two-week public outreach initiative at IITF 2025, focusing on citizen awareness and community engagement. The event featured key initiatives on crime prevention and welfare measures.

The Delhi Police wrapped up a two-week public outreach programme at the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025. The closing ceremony took place at Pragati Maidan, marking the conclusion of activities aimed at boosting citizen awareness and community ties, according to an official statement.

The pavilion, inaugurated by Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golchha on November 17, was a significant attraction at the fair. It showcased the force's initiatives in crime prevention, welfare measures, and public safety. The pavilion remained open from November 11 to 27.

Key Initiatives and Themes

Four thematic zones were featured in the pavilion, each focusing on different aspects of policing and public education. These included simplified awareness on the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). Anti-narcotics awareness was promoted through the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF).

Cybercrime reporting and safety demonstrations were also highlighted. Welfare initiatives included the sale of products by the Police Families Welfare Society (PFWS). The pavilion attracted visitors of all ages due to these diverse themes.

Interactive Activities and Engagement

Officials noted that interactive activities drew large crowds. These included live CEIR checks for lost or stolen mobile phones and a Spot the Scam cyber safety challenge. An interaction zone for children featured the Delhi Police Uncle mascot, while an Ask-the-Cop booth addressed queries on traffic, women's safety, and cyber fraud.

Self-defence demonstrations were organised for women with help from the Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC). The canine squad displayed its skills, and the Delhi Police Band performed live to engage the public further.

Closing Ceremony Highlights

During the closing ceremony, dignitaries witnessed self-defence demonstrations. A trained police dog showcased its operational skills as part of the event. A social media counter was set up to promote digital outreach and citizen interaction throughout the fair.

Srivastava praised the coordinated efforts of various police units and partner organisations. "The initiative played a crucial role in spreading awareness about new criminal laws, cybercrime prevention strategies, anti-narcotics initiatives, and various welfare programmes," he stated.

The event successfully enhanced public engagement through diverse activities and educational themes. It underscored the Delhi Police's commitment to community involvement and public safety education.
