Delhi Police Ask Wrestlers To Give Pics, Videos Proof Against Brij Bhushan: Report

The Delhi Police has reportedly asked two women wrestlers, who filed a sexual harassment case against Wrestling Federation of India President and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh to provide photographs, audio and video as evidence to back their allegations.

The police also asked them to submit photo evidence of a hug that Brij Bhushan had allegedly given to one of the complainants, The Indian Express reported.

The Delhi Police have served separate notices to two women, under Section 91 of CrPC, asking them to hand over all the evidence they have regarding the case.

The police have also sought essential details such as the dates and times of the alleged incidents, the duration of their visits to the WFI office, the names of their roommates and any potential witnesses, particularly if they were abroad at the time.

They have also asked information about the hotel where one of the wrestlers stayed during her visit to the WFI office.

What are the allegations against Brij Bhushan?

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has been accused by seven women wrestlers of engaging in inappropriate behavior and sexual misconduct. The allegations, documented in two First Information Reports (FIRs) filed at Delhi's Connaught Place police station last month, claim that Singh touched the athletes inappropriately under the guise of checking their breath, groped them, asked personal questions of a sexual nature, and demanded sexual favors in exchange for the federation covering their injury treatment expenses.

The allegations in the FIRs also accuse WFI President of groping women wrestlers, touching their legs with his legs, brushing his hands across a minor's breast and stalking her.

Wrestlers to intesify protest after June 15

The protesting wrestlers on Saturday threatened to resume their stir if a strong action is not taken against WFI chief Brij Bhushan by June 15.

The government had assured the wrestlers that a charge-sheet will be filed against the outgoing Wrestling Federation of India chief Singh by June 15.
