Delhi-NCR Air Quality Worsens, GRAP 3 Restrictions Imposed Again
The air quality in the Delhi-National Capital Region has worsened, prompting the Centre's Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to reimpose GRAP 3 restrictions. This decision was made on Wednesday as a measure to address the deteriorating air conditions.
"In an effort to prevent further deterioration of the air quality in pursuance of the Hon'ble Supreme Court's directives, the sub-committee on GRAP hereby decide to invoke ALL actions under stage-Ill ('severe' Air Quality of Delhif of extant schedule of GltAp, with immediate effect in right earnest by all the agencies concerned in Delhi-NCR, in addition to the Stage-l and II actions already in force," the air quality panel said in a statement.

GRAP 3 Restrictions Reimposed
The GRAP 3 restrictions are part of a graded response action plan aimed at curbing pollution levels. These measures are implemented when air quality reaches severe levels. The restrictions include halting construction activities and regulating vehicular emissions. Commuters faced challenges as they ventured out on a cold, foggy morning amidst rising pollution levels. The visibility was low, adding to the difficulties faced by those travelling across the region.
Efforts to Combat Pollution
Authorities have been working diligently to manage pollution levels and improve air quality. The reimposition of GRAP 3 is a step towards mitigating further degradation of air conditions. Agencies involved are expected to enforce these measures promptly. The situation remains dynamic, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available. Residents are advised to stay informed about any changes or additional measures that may be introduced. The current scenario highlights the ongoing struggle with air pollution in urban areas like Delhi-NCR. Efforts continue to find sustainable solutions that can effectively address this persistent issue.
