Delhi Health Minister Launches Six Mobile Dental Clinics to Enhance Oral Healthcare Access

Delhi's Health Minister, Pankaj Singh, recently introduced six state-of-the-art mobile dental clinics to improve access to oral healthcare. These clinics are equipped with modern dental chairs, portable X-ray units, ultrasonic scalers, sterilisation units, and diagnostic tools. They will offer free services like oral screenings, fluoride treatments, pain management, and basic restorative procedures. The initiative is a collaboration with the Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences (MAIDS).

Mobile Dental Clinics Launched in Delhi

Singh inaugurated the mobile clinics on World Oral Health Day. He emphasised the importance of oral health in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. "Being from the dental fraternity myself, I've seen firsthand how oral health is often neglected. A healthy lifestyle starts with timely medical consultation and the right treatment, including dental care," he stated.

Mobile Clinics to Reach Underserved Areas

The mobile clinics aim to deliver modern dental care directly to Delhi's residents, focusing on underprivileged areas. Singh highlighted that these clinics would reach every part of Delhi, including slums and densely populated regions, ensuring everyone has access to quality dental care. Each vehicle is also equipped with smart televisions and audio devices to educate people about oral hygiene.

These mobile units will work closely with Delhi government dispensaries, schools, and social welfare programmes. Their goal is to reach students, senior citizens, and vulnerable communities. Singh stated, "We're working on the ground, not just on paper, to ensure that even the most vulnerable sections receive timely medical attention."

Advancing Education Through Digital Resources

In addition to launching the mobile clinics, Singh introduced an e-library under the One Nation One Subscription scheme. This initiative provides students and medical professionals free access to thousands of books, journals, and research papers. Singh described this e-library as a significant gift for students and doctors.

He further explained that digital resources represent the future of learning. The e-library ensures that financial constraints do not hinder access to knowledge. Singh also praised MAIDS for its role in advancing oral healthcare in Delhi.

The introduction of these mobile dental clinics marks a significant step towards improving oral healthcare accessibility in Delhi. By collaborating with various institutions and utilising digital resources, the initiative aims to provide comprehensive support to those in need.
