Delhi Minister Atishi Receives Notice From EC Over BJP Poaching Attempt Claim

The Election Commission of India has issued a notice to Delhi Minister Atishi regarding an alleged violation of the poll code, following her recent claim of being offered to join the BJP or face arrest.

Atishi, a key leader in managing AAP affairs in Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's absence, has been asked to respond to the notice by 5 pm this Saturday.

Earlier this week, Atishi stated that the BJP had approached her through a close associate, offering her to switch sides to safeguard her political future. She alleged that the BJP threatened her with arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) within a month if she did not join them.

In response, the BJP issued a defamation notice to Atishi, demanding a public apology and proof of the alleged approach. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva dismissed Atishi's claims as baseless and suggested they were born out of the AAP's internal crisis. He asserted that the BJP would pursue the matter legally.
