Delhi Man Allegedly Rapes His Mother Following Accusations of Bad Character

A 39-year-old man in Delhi is accused of raping his mother after she returned from a pilgrimage. The allegations stem from accusations of her bad character made during the trip. Police are currently investigating the case.

A 39-year-old man is accused of raping his mother in Delhi's Hauz Qazi area after she returned from a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia. The police reported the incident on Saturday. The complainant, along with her 25-year-old daughter, went to the Hauz Qazi police station, alleging that her son, Md Firoz alias Suhel, had sexually assaulted her multiple times this month.

The woman had travelled to Saudi Arabia with her 72-year-old husband and their daughter on July 25 for a pilgrimage. During their trip, her son allegedly called his father's phone, accusing his mother of having a bad character. He demanded that his father return to Delhi immediately and divorce her, according to a senior police officer.

Accusations and Alleged Incidents

Upon returning home on August 1, the accused reportedly assaulted his mother and attempted another attack the following day. Fearing for her safety, she sought refuge at her elder daughter's in-laws' house for some time. On August 11, when she returned home around 9:30 pm, her son insisted on speaking privately. He then locked her in a room, threatened her with a knife and scissors, and allegedly raped her.

Out of fear and shame, the woman did not report the incident immediately. She began sleeping in the same room as her daughter. However, on August 14 at around 3:30 am, the accused allegedly repeated the act. This prompted the woman to gather courage and approach the police.

Investigation and Family Background

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS, and an investigation is underway, according to the officer. The accused is a graduate but currently unemployed. The complainant is an illiterate housewife whose husband is a retired government employee.
