Delhi Liquor Policy Case: Rouse Avenue Court Extends K Kavitha's ED Custody Till March 26

The Bharat Rashtriya Samithi (BRS) leader and daughter of Telangana former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, K Kavitha's custody to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has been extended for three more days. According to the reports, Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court has extended K Kavitha's custody till March 26 in connection with the money laundering case in the Delhi Liquor Policy case, which was later scrapped. The Delhi court has directed ED to K Kavitha before the court on on March 26, Tuesday, at 11:00 am for further hearing in the case.

Earlier, Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court had sent K Kavitha to custodial remand till March 23 after ED had arrested BRS from her Hyderabad residence on March 15, and the next day she was brought to Delhi for questioning.

K Kavitha s ED Custody Extended

The Enforcement Directorate has been alleging that K Kavitha was part of the 'South Lobby' which helped the Aam Aadmi Party with hard cash, which AAP used during elections in Goa.

However, Kavitha has rubbished all allegations terming ED's action as 'illegal' and a conspiracy by the BJP.

At the time of K Kavitha's arrest, her brother and party working president KT Rama Rao had a heated war of words with ED officials. Slamming the BJP-led Central government, KT Rama Rao in a post on micro-blogging site X said, "Abuse of power and institutional misuse to settle political scores is something that has become increasingly common with BJP govt in last 10 years".

KTR added "ED needs to answer Supreme Court on the inordinate rush to arrest when the matter is very much sub-judice & up for review in a couple of days, on the 19th March. What's even more appalling is the ED undermining its own undertaking given to the Hon'ble Supreme Court."
