Chief Secretary Directed to Submit Action Taken Report

Taking cognizance of Atishi's directive, Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar has promptly instructed the DJB CEO to furnish a comprehensive action taken report on the matter by March 13. This report is expected to provide detailed information on the steps undertaken to address the grievances raised by the MLAs.

Detailed Report and Assembly Session Presentation

Earlier, Atishi had directed Kumar to prepare a detailed report on all the complaints by March 14 and present it before the assembly session scheduled for March 15. This move underscores the seriousness of the situation and the need for immediate attention to the problems faced by Delhi residents.

Alarming Complaints of Water-Related Issues

The complaints received from the MLAs highlight alarming concerns about sewage overflow, contaminated water, and pipeline leaks across Delhi. These issues have significantly impacted the quality of life for residents and necessitate prompt action to ensure their well-being.

Progress Reports and Assembly Session Attendance

In addition to the detailed report, Atishi has also instructed the chief secretary to submit daily progress reports on the resolution of complaints by 6 pm. This ensures regular monitoring and accountability in addressing the grievances raised by the MLAs.

Furthermore, the chief secretary has been directed to ensure his presence in the assembly session on March 15, where the status of the DJB-related issues will be discussed.

Previous Communication and Action

On March 8, Atishi had already sent 80 complaints on sewage overflow, contaminated water, and pipeline leaks to the chief secretary. This demonstrates the ongoing efforts to address these concerns and bring about positive change.

In response, Kumar issued a note to the DJB CEO, emphasizing the need for a report on the grievances raised by the 42 MLAs. He also mandated the submission of daily action taken reports by 5.30 pm to facilitate the submission of these reports to the water minister.

The prompt action taken by Water Minister Atishi and the subsequent directives issued by Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar reflect the government's commitment to resolving water-related issues in Delhi. By setting strict deadlines and demanding regular progress reports, the authorities aim to ensure that the grievances of the MLAs and the concerns of Delhi residents are effectively addressed, leading to improved water management and enhanced quality of life for the citizens.
