Delhi High Court Chief Justice Addresses Bar Associations' Concerns Over Digital Court Shifting

The Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court has urged the Karkardooma Bar Association to return to work. This request came with a promise to resolve all concerns about digital courts. The association had stopped working on July 1 and July 5 due to the relocation of digital Negotiable Instruments (NI) courts from Karkardooma to Rouse Avenue.

The Karkardooma Bar Association also began a hunger strike on July 3. A letter from the high court's registrar general detailed a meeting held with the Chief Justice. This meeting included V P Sharma, vice chairperson of the Bar Council of India, D K Singh from the Bar Council of Delhi, and other bar representatives.

Coordination Committee Meeting

During the meeting, members of the coordination committee and other lawyers informed the Chief Justice about issues related to moving digital courts. The Chief Justice then asked Karkardooma Bar members to resume work immediately. He assured them that all concerns would be addressed promptly by the high court at an institutional level.

The letter also mentioned that the Chief Justice requested a written representation from the coordination committee. This representation should compile issues faced by various bar associations. The Chief Justice expressed his understanding of the situation and committed to ensuring smooth court operations.

The letter emphasized that the Chief Justice is aware of the challenges and will take necessary actions. His goal is to ensure that all courts operate without disruptions, addressing any issues related to digital court functions swiftly.
