CBI Probe Needed for Alleged Scam in Delhi Govt. School Construction: Claims BJP's Manoj Tiwari
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari has demanded a CBI investigation into an alleged scam involving the construction of classrooms in Delhi government schools, based on a report from the Vigilance Directorate. The Aam Aadmi Party claims this is an attempt by the BJP to disrupt their work in education.
On Friday, Delhi BJP MP Manoj Tiwari demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into an alleged scam in the construction of classrooms in Delhi government schools. This demand was made citing a report from the Vigilance Directorate. In response, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party released a statement alleging that BJP's intention is to obstruct the commendable work being performed by the Delhi government in education.
Tiwari's Allegations and Call for CBI Probe

In a press conference, Tiwari revealed that this report had been submitted by the Vigilance Directorate to Lokayukta last month. The MP had lodged a complaint with Delhi Lokayukta back in 2018 regarding suspected irregularities in constructing classrooms for government schools within Delhi.
According to him, semi-permanent school structures were built at an expenditure of Rs 32 lakh while permanent classrooms constructed by municipal corporations cost around Rs 9 lakh each. He further highlighted that despite reduction in number of classrooms from 7,180 to 4,126 as stated clearly in Vigilance Directorate’s report submitted to Lokayukta, there was no corresponding deduction made within budget allocation. For these reasons he called for this matter to be handed over to CBI.
AAP Government's Defense
The AAP government has defended itself against these allegations stating that they are unfounded and politically motivated. They argue their efforts have been focused on improving educational infrastructure and quality across all public schools within New Delhi.
Implications
If proven true, these allegations could have serious implications not just on those involved but also on overall trust people place within governmental institutions tasked with developing public infrastructure such as schools. It would shed light on potential misuse of public funds intended for enhancing educational facilities for children. Conversely, if these allegations are proven false, it could potentially harm the reputation of those who made them and create unnecessary political tension.
Conclusion
In conclusion, this situation highlights the importance of transparency and accountability within government operations especially in sectors as critical as education. The demand for a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in construction of classrooms by Delhi BJP MP Manoj Tiwari underscores public concerns over potential misuse of funds allocated for public infrastructure development. It remains to be seen how this issue will unfold and what implications it may have on future educational initiatives within Delhi.
