CBI Probe Needed for Alleged Scam in Delhi Govt. School Construction: Claims BJP's Manoj Tiwari

On Friday, Delhi BJP MP Manoj Tiwari demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into an alleged scam in the construction of classrooms in Delhi government schools. According to him, semi-permanent school structures were built at an expenditure of Rs 32 lakh while permanent classrooms constructed by municipal corporations cost around Rs 9 lakh each. He further highlighted that despite reduction in number of classrooms from 7,180 to 4,126 as stated clearly in Vigilance Directorate’s report submitted to Lokayukta, there was no corresponding deduction made within budget allocation. For these reasons he called for this matter to be handed over to CBI.
