Delhi CM House Row: PWD Finalises Inventory for Flagstaff Road Bungalow After Kejriwal and Atishi
The Public Works Department (PWD) in Delhi has compiled a detailed inventory of items at the 6, Flagstaff Road bungalow. This was done both before and after former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal vacated it, and following his successor Atishi's departure on Wednesday. A senior government official mentioned that decisions regarding its new allocation will be made soon.

Photographs and videos were taken to document the condition of the property, ensuring all household items were accounted for. The bungalow, which served as Kejriwal's residence for over nine years, has been at the centre of controversy due to the rapid changes in occupancy.
Controversy Surrounding Bungalow Allotment
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused the Lieutenant Governor (LG), allegedly influenced by the BJP, of forcibly vacating the bungalow. Conversely, the BJP claimed that Kejriwal occupied it without proper allotment. This back-and-forth has added to the complexities surrounding its future use.
Previously, the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) had requested PWD to allocate the bungalow to Atishi. However, sources from the LG office indicated that a thorough inventory was necessary before any new allotment could proceed.
Considerations for New Allotment
The fresh allocation process might take time due to several considerations. These include determining if 6, Flagstaff Road is officially designated as the Chief Minister's residence and investigating alleged irregularities in its reconstruction. Additionally, Atishi must surrender her current Mathura Road bungalow before applying for this one.
Atishi was allotted the Mathura Road bungalow last year when she became a minister in Delhi's government. Officials stated that this property needs to be relinquished before she can seek a new allotment for 6, Flagstaff Road.
Atishi's Response to Allegations
In response to these developments, Atishi stated that even if the BJP takes over the Flagstaff Road bungalow, she is willing to work from the streets to serve the public. Her statement reflects her commitment despite the ongoing political tussle over the property.
Images shared by AAP showed Atishi working amidst packed cartons at her private residence. This occurred a day after she was reportedly forced to leave Flagstaff Road, highlighting her determination amidst challenging circumstances.
The situation surrounding 6, Flagstaff Road remains unresolved as authorities deliberate on its future allocation. The ongoing political debate adds complexity to what should be a straightforward administrative decision.
