New Delhi, Jul 3: The power bill for Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's official residence stood at over Rs 1.35 lakh for the month of June which prompted Congress and BJP to pounce on the AAP government with both the parties accusing it of wasting public money for personal comfort.

After the electricity bill for April and May came out, the Delhi government had said it included electricity charges for a camp office and various other facilities installed for visitors at the complex.

It said the actual bill for electricity consumption at the Chief Minister's residence was much lower. Sources said Kejriwal's residence has over 30 air-conditioners besides a number of air coolers. [Arvind Kejriwal's personal power bill not Rs 91,000, clarifies Delhi Govt]

Meanwhile, sources said that according to a distribution company which supplies power in Civil Lines area it may send a notice to Chief Minister's residence for using domestic connection for office work.

"Arvind Kejriwal is wasting public fund for personal use. After coming power, the AAP leaders had said they will not indulge in luxury and will live like a common man. What they are doing now," DPCC president Ajay Maken asked.

BJP leader Vijendra Gupta also attacked Kejriwal saying he was wasting public funds for personal comfort.

"This is not at all acceptable. They are splurging public funds for personal comfort. People of Delhi are now knowing about real face of AAP," he said.
