Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Declares Anupam Kher's Tanvi The Great Tax-Free in National Capital
Delhi's Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, has announced that the film "Tanvi The Great" will be exempt from taxes in the capital. The film, directed by Anupam Kher, portrays the journey of a young autistic woman. Gupta expressed her delight on X, stating that the film's narrative promotes inclusion and tells an inspiring story of Tanvi, a determined young girl overcoming challenges to achieve her dreams.

Gupta highlighted the emotional and motivational aspects of Tanvi's story in her post. She emphasised the government's commitment to supporting films that foster national service, patriotism, and societal awareness. Gupta also extended her best wishes to the film's team. Earlier this month, she attended the exclusive premiere of the film before its release on July 18.
Film Declared Tax-Free in Multiple States
Madhya Pradesh's Chief Minister, Mohan Yadav, also declared the film tax-free in his state on Tuesday. This move aligns with efforts to promote meaningful cinema across India. By making "Tanvi The Great" tax-free, both states aim to encourage audiences to engage with its powerful message.
Anupam Kher expressed gratitude towards Chief Minister Gupta for her support. In a post on X, he thanked her for making the film tax-free in Delhi. "We are deeply touched honourable Chief Minister of Delhi by your kind and generous gesture of making our film TanviTheGreat tax free in Delhi! Your magnanimity will help us spread the message of our film to the wider audience! Many many thanks!" he wrote.
The decision to make "Tanvi The Great" tax-free is expected to increase its reach and impact. By reducing ticket costs, more people can access this inspiring story. The film aims to raise awareness about autism and inspire viewers through Tanvi's journey.
The support from both Delhi and Madhya Pradesh governments highlights a growing trend of promoting films with social messages. Such initiatives not only benefit filmmakers but also contribute to societal change by encouraging discussions on important issues.
