Delhi Blast Video: Explosion Near Delhi's Red Fort Metro Station

An explosion occurred near Delhi's Red Fort Metro Station on Monday, damaging multiple vehicles. According to ANI, the blast took place in a car parked near Gate No. 1 of the Metro station, after which three to four nearby vehicles caught fire and sustained damage.

"The Delhi Fire Service received a call regarding an explosion in a car near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station. Following the blast, three to four vehicles also caught fire and were damaged," the DFS said in a statement.

This incident comes amid alarming discoveries of explosives near the national capital. A team of Jammu and Kashmir police recently recovered 350 kg of explosives, suspected to be ammonium nitrate, along with an assault rifle from Faridabad in Haryana.

The massive seizure was linked to the arrest of a Kashmiri doctor, Adil Ahmad Rather, from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. Rather was taken into custody for allegedly putting up posters in Srinagar supporting the terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed.

According to reports, the Faridabad explosives and arms were stored by another doctor, Mujammil Shakeel, who is originally from Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, and currently works at Al-Falah Hospital in Faridabad. Shakeel was also arrested in connection with the case.

Faridabad Police Commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta confirmed the recovery, stating that along with 350 kg of explosives, authorities found 20 timers, a pistol, three magazines, and a walkie-talkie set.

Investigations trace back to October 27, when posters backing Jaish-e-Mohammed appeared in Srinagar. Local police, aided by CCTV footage, identified Dr. Rather as the person putting up the posters. He was later tracked to Saharanpur and arrested. Sources revealed that Rather had worked at the Government Medical College in Anantnag until October 2024. During a search of his locker at the Anantnag college, an assault rifle was recovered. Further information shared by Rather during questioning led police to the explosives and arms stash in Faridabad.
