Narak Chaturdashi is an important day of the five-day-long Diwali celebration. The most significant ritual on Chaturdashi day is the Abhyang Snan (holy bathing). It is believed that individuals performing the Abhyang Snan on this day can evade going to Narak (hell). During this ritual, it is recommended to use sesame oil for Ubtan, the cleansing paste used during the Abhyang Snan.
