Death of an artist: Twitter pays tribute to Yusuf Arakkal
Bengaluru's most well-known artist, Yusuf Arakkal, passed away at his residence on Tuesday. According to family members, the renowned 70-year-old figurative artist was suffering from illness.
"My father has passed away," the Bengaluru-based artist's son Sibu Arakkal told PTI.

Besides Sibu, Arakkal is survived by wife Sara Arakkal. He was born in 1945 in Kerala's Chavakkad. The award-winning artist obtained a diploma in painting from Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat in the city.
The popular artist will be missed by the art-loving fraternity of Bengaluru. Most of Arakkal's fans expressed their grief and anguish over his demise on Twitter.
