Bihar: Chaotic Stampede At Temple In Jehanabad Leaves 7 Pilgrims Dead
Seven pilgrims died, and nine others were injured in a stampede at Baba Siddhanth Temple in Jehanabad district of Bihar on Monday morning.
Among the victims were five women and two men. The injured were immediately taken to hospitals in Makhdumpur and Jehanabad for treatment.

Jehanabad DM Alankrita Pandey assured that the situation is now under control.
Speaking with news agency ANI, she confirmed, "At least seven people died and nine were injured in a stampede at Baba Siddhnath Temple in Makhdumpur of Jehanabad district. We are monitoring everything, and now the situation is under control."
Following the incident, the District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police promptly visited the site.
Jehanabad Station House Officer Divakar Kumar Vishwakarma shared, "DM and SP visited the spot, and they are taking stock of the situation... A total of seven people have died... We are meeting and inquiring about the family members (of the people dead and injured). We are trying to identify the people who have died; after this, we will send the bodies for a post-mortem."
Jehanabad's Sub-Divisional Officer Vikas Kumar described the event as a "sad" incident, noting, "It is a sad incident...All the arrangements were tight, we are taking stock of the situation and then will further inform you about this."
This tragedy comes not long after a similar incident on July 2 in UP's Hathras, where over 120 people died during a stampede at a religious congregation led by Baba Narayan Hari.
