DA Hike: Rajasthan Government Increases Dearness Allowance For Government Employees By 12%

The state government has brought positive news for its employees as the new year approaches. An order has been issued to increase the dearness allowance (DA) for government workers. This decision aims to ease the financial burden on employees in a world where living costs are rising.

Dearness Allowance Increase

A significant decision has been made to raise the DA for state employees and pensioners. The increase is set at 12%, benefiting those under the 5th and 6th pay scales. This adjustment will be effective from July 1, providing timely relief to many.

The Rajasthan government, led by Bhajan Lal Sharma, has also announced an increase in DA and dearness relief (DR) for its employees. Finance Minister Diya Kumari approved this hike, which adjusts the concession rate from 443% to 455% for the fifth pay scale and from 239% to 246% for the sixth pay scale.

Central Government Employees Await Decision

Meanwhile, central government employees are eagerly waiting for news about their pending DA of 18 months. Despite repeated requests, there has been no response from the authorities regarding this matter.

There is speculation that the Narendra Modi government might address this issue in the upcoming 2025 budget. If a decision is made, it could significantly benefit both current and retired government employees by resolving long-standing financial concerns.

This move by both state and central governments reflects their commitment to supporting public sector workers amidst economic challenges. By adjusting allowances, they aim to provide some financial stability in these uncertain times.
