Cracks in AAP? Shanti Bhushan praises Kiran Bedi, says Delhi needs an honest CM like her

New Delhi, Jan 22: Just few days ahead of the Delhi Assembly polls, Aam Aadmi Party founder member Shanti Bhushan has added to the political heat by praising BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi saying that she is a good administrator.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Bhushan said Kiran Bedi is capable of providing Delhi a clean administration and that he would be happy if she becomes the Chief Minister.

Welcoming Bedi's elevation as BJP's chief ministerial candidate, Bhushan said, "She has been an able administrator and is likely to give Delhi a clean and effective government."

He said, "It is a master stroke by BJP to bring Kiran Bedi ji and declare her party's CM candidate. She had made a huge contribution to India Against Corruption."

Bhushan further said, "BJP recognized force of Anna's andolan and were forced to bring as CM candidate, a crusader (Kiran Bedi) against corruption."

"Last year Kejriwal has offered the post of chief minister to her. It means he felt she would make a better chief minister, but she did not join AAP. I think from very beginning, she had some pro-BJP mind-set. I would have preferred if she was with AAP and became the chief minister," he further said.

The former law minister also alleged that the ticket distribution in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was faulty.

"In the ticket distribution, he (Kejriwal) has given tickets on the basis of winnability," he said.

Bhushan said that Bedi's nomination by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the success of the anti-corruption movement.

"AAP's aim was to re-establish clean politics in the country. It has succeeded in the way it forced the BJP to bring Bedi in the party," he said.
