Court remands Saradha accused to 4-day CBI custody
Kolkata, Sept 8: A city court on Tuesday remanded Saradha chit fund scam accused Ramesh Gandhi, Managing Director of a media company, to CBI custody for four days.
Additional chief judicial magistrate of Alipore court Sumona Ghorai granted CBI's plea and remanded him to its custody till September 11. Gandhi, MD of city-based Rainbow Production Ltd, was arrested on Monday for his alleged involvement in the Saradha chitfund scam case.

CBI claimed that he was allegedly associated with Saradha Group Chief Sudipta Sen and that huge funds were transferred to his own and company's account.
Gandhi is stated to be a confidante of a former Union Minister who is also an accused in the case.
Sen has reportedly claimed in his statement that the former Union Minister with the help of Gandhi and others allegedly blackmailed him and extorted Rs 29 crore from him which were invested to acquire a company, according to CBI sources.
