Court finds man guilty of raping 92-year-old woman

Muzaffarnagar, Jul 31: A 26-year-old man has been found guilty of raping a 92-year-old woman by a local

here. Additional District and Sessions Judge Shyam Kumar yesterday held the accused Mantu guilty of committing the crime under section 376 (

) of the IPC.

The quantum of sentence is yet to be pronounced. According to the prosecution, the woman was raped by Mantu at her house in Kandhla town in Shamli district on August 10, 2011.

The victim's medical report had confirmed rape. She died during pendency of the case but her statement was recorded in court, in which she supported the story of the prosecution.
