Couple strangulated to death by parents in UP

Badaun (UP), Sep 17: In a suspected case of honor killing, a 19 year-old-girl and her lover were strangulated to death by the girl's parents in Nandyal village here, police said today.

Mausam Ali and his wife Harsimat Begum found their daughter in an objectionable position with her lover in her room last night, SSP Sunil Saxena said, adding in a fit of rage, the parents strangulated them to death.

The girl's parents later surrendered before the police, Saxena said, adding they have been arrested. The bodies have been sent for postmortem, police added.
