Cong to better vote share but get lesser seats than BJP: Jan Ki Baat poll
Despite getting a better vote share than the BJP, Congress is predicted to win lesser seats than the ruling party in the forthcoming Karnataka Assembly polls.

According to Asianet News Network and a survey by Jan Ki Baat, the grand old party is likely to get 38-40 per cent vote share.
Whereas the ruling party is predicted to get 37-39 per cent vote share. The JDS is predicted to earn around 16-18 per cent vote share with others securing 5-7 per cent votes in the forthcoming polls.
In the 2018 polls, the Congress had secured 38 per cent vote share while the BJP had earned 36.5 per cent vote share. Whereas the JDS had got 18 per cent vote share and others earned 7.5 per cent votes.
In the end, the BJP had emerged as a single largest party by getting 104 seats, Congress came second by winning 80 seats and the JDS bagged 37 seats.
This time, the BJP is predicted to win 98-109 seats, Congress to get 89-97 seats and the JDS to win 25-29 seats.
The survey was conducted between March 25 and April 11 and 30000 respondents across various districts of the state took part in the opinion poll.

- Amongst Uppar OBCs, 65 per cent prefer BJP, 33 per cent prefer Congress and 2 per cent prefer JDS.
- In the Reddy community, 55 per cent prefer BJP, 40 per cent could go with Congress and 5 per cent with JDS.
- 75 per cent among Brahmins prefer BJP, 15 per cent could go with Congress, & 10 per cent might go with JDS.
- 60 per cent among Konkanis prefer BJP, 38 per cent could go with Congress and 2 per cent could vote for JDS.
- In the Jain community, 70 per cent could go with BJP, 25 per cent could go with Congress and 5 per cent could go with JDS.
- 89 per cent of Kodavas prefer BJP, 10 per cent could go with Congress and 1 per cent from this community could vote for JDS.
- 65 per cent of Bunts prefer BJP, 30 per cent could go with Congress and 5 per cent could pick JDS.
- 76 per cent of Belawas are expected to go with BJP, 20 per cent with Congress &and 4 per cent with JDS.
- 85 per cent of the Muslim community in Karnataka prefers Congress, 10 per cent could go with JDS and BJP could get a fraction of votes from the the Muslim community.
- 55 per cent among Scheduled Caste, Non - Lambanis are likely to go with Congress, 35 per cent with BJP and 20 per cent with JDS.
- 70 per cent of SC Lambanis are likely to go with Congress, 20 per cent could drift towards BJP and 10 per cent could go with JDS.
- In the ST community, 55 per cent could go with Congress, 30 per cent with BJP and 15 per cent with JDS.
- 20 per cent among the Vokkaliga community could go with BJP this time and Congress could just be preferred by 10 per cent Vokkaliga voters.
- 70 per cent among the Vokkaliga community prefer JDS over BJP and Congress.
- 70 per cent of Lingayats in Karnataka prefer BJP over other parties.
